Important Notes:  

1. No extensions will be granted for any components of the project and delays will result in a 20% deduction of marks.
2. Plagiarism Policy: The project report must not have an AI-generated content similarity exceeding 10%. All group members must work honestly and collaboratively. Marking will be done individually.

Assessment Prompt:  

Choose one of the following real-world situations and critically assess it using any one International Relations (IR) theory covered in this course (e.g., Realism, Liberalism, Constructivism, Marxism, Feminism, Post-colonialism, etc.).  

Situations (choose one):  

1. The Russia-Ukraine War (2022–present)
2. The U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan (2021)
3. China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)
4. Climate Change Negotiations and the Paris Agreement
5. The Iran-Iraq War (1981-1988)

Task Guidelines:  

• Design a proper cover page and report, including introduction, main argument, review of literature, critical assessment, and conclusion.
• Provide a brief summary of the chosen event or situation.
• Explain the key tenets of the IR theory you have chosen.
• Apply the theory to your chosen situation. How does this theory help us understand the actors, motivations, power dynamics, or outcomes involved?
• Evaluate the strengths and limitations of this theory in explaining the situation. Are there aspects that the theory fails to account for?
• Use academic sources (at least 5) to support your arguments.
