UAE Transformation past-present

UAE Old & New According Trade, Technology & Development Essay

In this sample essay, we will discuss the UAE’s transformation after the advancement in technology.

Technologies have changed our lives a lot and it has influenced a ton of our journey, it has changed the style of our living and made our lives more adaptable. It is the collection of systems, abilities, processes, and strategies. The UAE’s rulers have been quick to grasp the capability of innovation to enhance the lives of the nation’s occupants, with initiatives. For example, Dubai’s Smart City, first reported in 2013, moved taxpayer-driven organizations progressively online to enhance productivity and diminish costs. In recent years such efforts have moved up a gear. Blockchain technology’s grasp is set to cut expenses among government bodies in the years to come.

Digitalizing government services and automated traffic light systems are scarcely significant in the fantastic plan of smart cities. The most brilliant are making technology to do everything from enhancing security and remotely checking infrastructure, for example, power grids, to designing entire cities based on 3D simulations that predict the future and – the assumption is – reduce the likelihood of unexpected problems.

UAE Before Technology advancement

In the UAE before the 60s, there were no freeways, record-breaking skyscrapers, and sprawling neighbourhoods. Paved highways, in particular, were a pivotal milestone for the region. Before the advancement of technology, the lifestyle of UAE people was simple and villages.

Education

When there was no technology, no transport, no advanced schools. The UAE people used to cross the large desert to reach the schools barefooted. The schools had limited facilities. Students were only dependent on their teachers and books for their education.

Transportation

In the UAE, there was no transportation medium back then. People used to cross the sea by hand-made boats which were available only a few times at a few places. The easiest way to drive from Dubai to Ras al-Khaimah was on the beach because that’s where the sand was most firm. I’ve read and heard conflicting reports of whether people had to wait for the tide to go out in some places on that route. One place you had to wait for the low tide was where Maqta Bridge stands now, connecting Abu Dhabi to the mainland.

Lifestyle

The lifestyle of UAE people in the technology era was very simple and cultural. People used to do cultural activities daily to spend their time. They used to play cards, gamble, and other games. Older neighbourhoods the likes of which can still be found in parts of Bur Dubai and Deira, the old city of Ras al-Khaimah, the abandoned town of al-Jazeera al-Hamra, and some parts of Dibba — were built to be walkable. Many but not all people worked not far from where they lived. Many families migrated seasonally, usually on foot, between different sources of livelihood. In the 60s, homes were small and close to each other. A street or alley was called a Sikka, probably the best-known example of this today is Sikkat al-Khail, near the Gold Souq in Dubai. These were narrow and helped maintain privacy.

Present UAE with Technology

We’ve all been seeing the evolution of a definition of smart cities; a lot of governments have been putting together frameworks of new according. Dubai is among those governments crafting smart city plans and has boldly declared it will become one of the smartest cities in the world by 2020 and the Dubai Government already has saved $1.17bn through shared smart services since 2003.

Lifestyle

The explosion of smartphone ownership in the UAE in the past 10 years, coupled with the country’s high internet penetration and government bodies’ readiness to embrace technology, has transformed nearly every aspect of life in the country, from how we communicate, to how we work, shop, get around, and pay our electricity bills. The UAE’s rulers have been quick to embrace the potential of technology to improve the lives of the country’s inhabitants. Moving government services increasingly online to improve efficiency and reduce costs. In recent years such efforts have moved up a gear. The embrace of blockchain technology is set to further cut costs among government bodies in the years to come. A tech-savvy population has proved alluring to the region’s entrepreneurs, giving rise to the region’s most dynamic start-up culture.

Education

From artificial intelligence to e-books and robotics, the United Arab Emirates is revamping its educational system to include an array of emerging technologies. With the Fourth Industrial Revolution increasingly shaping the world, educators are adapting their programs to ensure children are equipped for tomorrow’s jobs. From digital education to Augmented education, the UAE education sector has emerged with technology.

Transportation

UAE is diversifying its oil-based economy after the advancement in technology in the energy and travel tourism sector. There are highways, roads, ships, aeroplanes, and many transportation mediums in UAE to supply goods and travel.
